Fumigation is a process wherein gas is added to an enclosure for the purpose of controlling or eliminating undesirable organisms.  The organisms maybe pests of various types-such as insects, rodents, mites and birds-or microorganisms, or particular plants or seeds.  Fumigation as a technique may be describe simply as the establishment of an atmosphere containing a lethal gas in the environment of an insect at a concentration high enough and an exposure period long enough to kill the insect.

Entom is accredited by the Bureau of Plant Industry as treatment provider or fumigator for “(ISPM 15) INTERNATIONAL STANDARD FOR PHYTOSANITARY MEASURES NO. 15: GUIDELINES FOR REGULATING WOOD PACKAGING MATERIALS USED IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE”.  These guidelines are now being implemented worldwide to prevent introduction of pests linked to Wood Packaging Materials.

Last December 4, 2008, Entom was issued a certificate of AFAS registration by the Bureau of Plant Industry - Australian Quarantine & Inspection in accordance to BPI Quarantine administrative order no. 1 series of 2008. "Guidelines for the implementation of the Australian Fumigation Accreditation Scheme (AFAS) in the philippines" with registration number: AFASPH0024.
